Due to pressure from the United States Department of Education, colleges and universities have revised their procedures to greatly diminished the protections afforded students accused of various forms of sexual and other misconduct.  Gathering and preserving digital evidence, such as text and email messages, Facebook posts, and photos, that indicate the conduct was consensual, and supplying such evidence to administrators early in the disciplinary process, can make a substantial difference in the ultimate outcome.  Preserving such evidence can also be critical in defending any criminal case that may subsequently be brought.  We have been successful in convincing schools not to pursue sanctions against students in a number of such cases.
